For the price and the proximity to Hobart cbd this hotel is overall good. I stayed in a private single room. The room came with a heater, a lockable tall locker with shelves, a set of clothes draws (4 draws), a desk and chair, a bedside table and a laundry basket. I found the amenities very helpful. The bed was really comfortable and pre made. The reception set up only being open for a few hours is unusual, but it was fine, if you can’t check in those hours there’s key lock boxes they will leave your key in. It was quite difficult getting up the stairs with a suitcase, but I managed. The walls and doors are a bit thin, could hear noise from outside, the stairs and people talking while passing but this stopped by midnight. The bathrooms were always spotless and very nice hot showers (just need to leave the water running for a while, hot is turn left!) the kitchen was always tidy. Good amount of utensils. Huge panty. Plenty of fridge space. Friendly guests. My room only had two plug sockets quite close to the ground, so I bought an extension from target 2 min walk away. 3 washing machines and 3 dryers on level 1 and level 3. Great cafe downstairs. (Dandy Lane) Also many other great restaurants and cafes nearby. Night entrance is well signposted, it’s well lit and the door auto closes. Would be good if the heaters were replaced with oil radiators as less noisy and heat is steady.

7.8/10 Good! (757 reviews)
Our stay was extremely disappointing and well below expectations. The lift system was a major issue, with constant rattling and mechanical noise clearly audible throughout the rooms every time the lifts operated. One lift also appeared to be malfunctioning, with the doors repeatedly closing on people and failing to reopen properly, creating a genuine safety concern.Prior to arrival, I contacted the property months in advance regarding adjoining rooms but received no response whatsoever. The overall environment felt unsafe and poorly managed. A number of people staying at the property appeared to be engaging in antisocial behaviour, including apparent drug use, and regularly congregated in common areas. The front entrance door had been damaged or appeared subject to an attempted break-in, yet there was no communication from management regarding security or reassurance for guests. The car parking spaces were significantly narrower than standard, making it difficult to enter and exit vehicles or open passenger doors.Room presentation was also poor. Bed linen was dirty on arrival, bathroom amenities were extremely basic, with low-quality single-ply toilet paper and bar soap instead of liquid soap. The air-conditioning system was locked and would not allow guests to adjust the temperature.Unfortunately, due to the noise, cleanliness concerns, safety issues, poor communication and inadequate facilities, we would not choose to stay here again.
